The problem

Cam documents his travels for hundreds of thousands of followers across social platforms. Social profiles are where the audience is, but they are a poor place to send a brand: the work is scattered, the numbers are not in one place, and there is nowhere to start a conversation.

He needed one address he could give a potential sponsor, one that showed the photography at full size, made the partnerships he already had visible, and let him update it without calling a developer.

How it works

The site is built on Next.js with a database behind it, so every album, vlog, client and piece of gear is a record Cam can edit rather than a page a developer has to touch. Photos upload straight from his browser to cloud storage, and the site serves them from there.

Speed on a photo-heavy site comes down to the images. Every photo is compressed to WebP before it goes up, which cuts the file size to a fraction of the original at the same visible quality, and the pages request only the size each screen needs.

Since launch the site has been the place Cam sends brands. Sponsorships and long-term partners have come through it.
